Once you arrive at Pafos Zoo, you'll have a few hours to venture in and wander from enclosure to enclosure in your own time. Meet all the residents, big and small, make sure you catch the famous parrot show and take the kids down to the children's farm where they can pet and interact with friendly animals. There's also everything from elephants and giraffes all the way to guinea pigs and porcupines. You'll also encounter colourful birds such as flamingos and reptiles like snakes and tortoises. What's more, the park has all the facilities you'll need including a snack bar, restaurant and souvenir shop.

History:
A project started with Mr Christos Christoforou’s love of Birds & Wildlife. The Zoo was originally going to be used to house Mr Christoforou’s enormous collection of Birds, but he decided to open the Zoo to the public, so that they may also enjoy the splendours of his collection & it would also be a unique Zoo in Cyprus. Mr Christoforou’s other aim was to educate the local community about the importance of caring & conserving all wildlife. The Zoo took approximately 3 years to complete & it was finally open to the public in September 2003. Pafos Zoo was the first established and biggest licensed zoo in Cyprus, and is set in a lush and unspoiled natural environment of more than 100.000 sq.m. One of the island’s leading tourist attraction. Its home to an extensive variety of birds and animals from every corner of the planet. The collection of parrots and venomous snakes is one of the largest in Europe!
After paying the entrance fee turn right and you meet several aviaries for birds of prey. Here you also can, for an extra fee, enter an aviary for ringtailed lemurs.Turning right we have see on our right hand enclosures for farm animals.The next path on the right will leed you to large enclosures for hoofed animals like thomson gazelles and cyprus mufflon. In front of them is a row of aviaries for pheasants and opposite crocodyles. Following the main path we then meet kangaroos, behind them we find the flamingos. Lets then enter the house with egyptian fruit bats, a species you can find on Cyprus. Next to them we have some farm animals like the bactrian camel. Opposite are turtles. On the right hand we then find some aviaries for parots, toucans and hornbills. Opposite are the feline enclosures, home to lions and tigers. On the right we then have the elephants. Going arround the playground we meet cranes, giraffes, zebras and llamas. Here we again have several aviaries for birds. On the left we have the monkey enclosures, behind them even more aviaries. Here we among other meet crowned pigeons and penguins. Going downhill we meet different species of tamarins, here we turn left. After some aviaries we have a terrarium with snakes and other reptiles. In front of it we passed the next path with a ton of small aviaries for small irds. We keep on following the duck lake, even at a point crossing a bridge on your right hand.
